Ever heard of a foodservice equipment technician? Most people haven't, and that's exactly what makes this such a rare opportunity. While everyone is heading toward HVAC or general appliance repair, this industry is wide open, in demand, and short on trained people. The restaurants, schools, hospitals, and stadiums you visit every day depend on this equipment running. The TFG Tech Track puts you inside that world — paid, mentored, and on a clear path forward — before most people even know the career exists.
Your Path Forward
Six Stages. One Career.
The Tech Track isn't just an internship — it's the starting line of a structured career. Here's exactly where it goes.
-
1▾StudentWhere the track beginsYou're still in school, learning the foundational knowledge of your trade. The Tech Track is designed to complement your coursework — not compete with it. A flexible 2–4 day schedule means you build real experience while you finish your program.
-
2▾InternDevelop your skills under TFG techsThis is the paid internship stage. You'll work directly alongside our experienced technicians in the shop and in the field. You're mentored, not thrown in the deep end — every call you go on, there's a senior tech with you. You'll learn to service commercial hot and cold equipment across restaurants, schools, hospitals, and more.
-
3▾Install / PM TechnicianMake customer visits and provide supportYou're now making real customer visits — handling installations and preventive maintenance calls. You'll start building your own customer relationships and gaining the field confidence that separates good techs from great ones.
-
4▾Service TechnicianIndependent and ready for all service callsFull independent technician. You own your calls, your territory, and your outcomes. This is where your earning potential grows with your skill set — and where most techs in other industries spend their entire careers without ever having this level of ownership.
-
5▾Senior TechnicianA foundational part of the TFG service teamYou're now the person newer techs learn from. Senior Technicians are the backbone of TFG's service operations — trusted, relied on, and recognized for it. This stage comes with deeper expertise, stronger customer relationships, and growing influence within the team.
-
6▾Factory Certified ExpertLeadership, experience, and factory-level masteryThe top of the track. Factory Certified Experts have mastered their equipment through advanced manufacturer training and years of field experience. This is a designation most technicians in other fields never have the opportunity to reach. At TFG, it's a defined goal — not a distant possibility. And for those who get here, the doors it opens go well beyond the title.
